Wayne Shorter once described a father lifting his child onto his shoulders at a parade—suddenly, the child could see farther and with more clarity than the father himself. That's what teaching means to me.

My job isn't to hand you my perspective. It's to give you a vantage point from which you can find your own. I hold my students to a high standard so that they can be the best version of what they are trying to become.

“Ennis really helps you on your musical journey; he always wants to help you achieve your unique goals, and working with him was a breath of fresh air coming from teachers who have more restrictive visions of what a great musician can be.”

J. Guerrero

“Ennis is a great teacher for both music and life. His lessons were always enjoyable, he has various methods for teaching, and he doesn’t forget the fun part of making music. I recommend him as a teacher for all skill levels.”

A. Mora
